Prof. Adam Boies
Professor Adam Boies leads the Aerosol and Nanotechnology for Energy and the Environment (ANEE) Laboratory in Mechanical Engineering Department at Stanford University. His research focuses on developing energy and reacting flow and pyrolysis processes through aerosol and nano-scale approaches with an emphasis on creating bulk functional carbon nanotube materials with properties that can displace large material systems (steel, aluminum, and copper). He has led over $100M in projects related to sustainable energy, hydrogen, emissions, and functional carbons. He was previously Professor of Nanomaterials and Aerosol Engineering and Head of the Energy Faculty in Engineering Department at Cambridge University where he remains an affiliated professor and Fellow of Trinity College. He served as Director of the Advanced Carbon Application and Manufacturing Network and was co-creator and Partnership Director of the Aerosol Science Center for Doctoral Training.
