Prof. Nick Voulvoulis
Prof. Nick Voulvoulis BSc (Hons) MSc DIC PhD DMS is a Professor of Environmental Technology and Deputy Director of the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London. He is an international expert in environmental management, especially where science and engineering interface with public policy. Trained as an environmental scientist, his work targets the interactions and interdependencies between human and natural systems, and through interdisciplinary systems thinking, aims to facilitate the transition towards a circular economy, net zero, as well as sustainable futures inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals. He leads the strategic research partnership with Anglian Water and has led the research collaboration with Veolia on circular economy. Current research activities include the sustainability of the hydrogen economy, global resources fragility and vulnerability to droughts, the role of manufacturing in the proliferation of antimicrobial resistance, and risks associated with combined sewer overflows, amongst others.
